~ Gabriola Farm & Forest Program ~

Over four Saturdays this spring, children ages 6–10 are invited into a hands-on immersion in farm and forest life on Gabriola Island through hands-on learning, curiosity, and play.

Together we will discover edible and medicinal plants, learn about respectful harvesting, work with natural materials, practice simple tracking and navigation skills, listen for bird language, and explore the rich ecology of our coastal landscape. Through guided activities and outdoor adventures, children will build confidence, awareness, and practical nature skills rooted in care for the land.

Through shared work, observation, and reflection, we will foster a nature-connected, community-minded culture grounded in care for one another and for the more-than-human world. The farm and forest become both classroom and teacher, inviting us into deeper relationship with place, season, and each other. 

We are pleased to be able to offer this program in partnership the Gabriola Nature Education Society (GNES) and People for a Healthy Community (PHC).

Program starts in May 2026 and runs until June 2026. Registration is for all 4 sessions. Subsidies are available for families in need, please contact for details.
