Cancellation Policy

Dear Families,


Upon registering for a Fianna Program, you are agreeing to our cancellation policy. Should you feel that you cannot commit to these terms, you have 24hrs, from the time of registration, to withdraw your registration and receive a full refund, minus the processing fee and a $50 admin fee.


Cancellation Policy:


Prior to the start date of a program, we invest in program development, staff training, insurance, permits, and equipment. These are costs that we are not able to recover should you cancel your registration. We appreciate your understanding that we run our programs based on your commitment at the time of registration. We are truly grateful for your support and for the honour of working with families in our home communities.


Our programs are for kids and adults who are interested in connecting with the natural world, learning  new skills, and engaging with peers and mentors in a respectful way. We will deny  admission to anyone we believe to be unable to meet these safety and accountability requirements.


We believe in collaborating with families to overcome challenges, and to grow and learn from conflict. However we reserve the right to dismiss any student who  exhibits persistent behaviour that is unsafe or disrupts from the educational goals of a program. If we cannot find a solution for your child to continue to participate, they will be dismissed, following the refund policy outlined below.


Yearlong Programs


Your payment options:

Upon registration, your financial commitment is for the full term from Sept-June. If you are on the installment plan, you are still committing to the full tuition. If you cancel your registration, you will be charged according to our policy.


  1. Installment Plan: offers the flexibility of 4 payments over the course of 7 months. Requires auto-billing on a Credit Card
  2. Etransfer: accepted for FULL payment of tuition by Aug 16th
  3. E-Check: accepted through your Active account for FULL payment of tuition by Aug 16th
  4. DL: We accept Distributed Learning Funds. Families must stay up to date on payments, however when DL funds are received and they cover balances already paid, a refund will be issued


Late Payment Policy

1.  12% late fee will be applied to payments that are more than 2 weeks overdue.

2. An additional 2% late fee will be added for each subsequent week of overdue payments.


Cancellation and Refund Policy:

  1. Before August 1: Full tuition is returned minus the $150 deposit**
  2. August 1 and After: Tuition will be returned - minus one month's tuition and the $150 deposit**.
  3. Program start date and after. If you wish to withdraw your child, we will issue a refund minus the days your child attended, two months' tuition fee and the $150 deposit**. This covers our costs while we work to fill your child’s spot. Remaining funds returned or canceled. 
  4. After Dec 31st: we are unable to devote time to filling your spot, and no refund will be offered.


**If you paid in full at time of registration, the total tuition included a $150 deposit per registration


Deposit Policy:

  1. Deposit is non-refundable
  2. Deposits are transferable between yearlong programs, within the same program year
  3. Transfers are no longer available after August 15


Program Transfer:

Program transfers are $50 per transfer. Transfers are no longer available after August 15.


Spring/Summer Camps


Cancellation and Refund Policy:

1. A 50% refund will be offered 15 or more days before the start of your program

2. No refund on cancellations 14 days or less from your program start date



Program Cancelled by Fianna Wilderness School

1. Periodically, we have to cancel a day of program due to inclement weather. In this event, Fianna is unable to offer a refund. However, we will look at the possibility of scheduling up to one make-up day.  

2. If BC Ferries are cancelled due to inclement weather, the above policy applies.

3. If a program has low enrollment and we have to cancel that program, before the start date, a full refund will be available, minus transaction fees.


Adult Programs/Workshops


Cancellation and Refund Policy:

1. A 50% refund will be offered 15 or more days before the start of your program

2. No refund on cancellations 14 days or less from your program start date
