An Embodied Journey with our Ancient Stories

From Myth to Soul Pelt, is a journey into the constellation of soul, land, and mythology. We will unfold the teachings held within an old story, in an attempt to court the remaining vestiges of an intact, earth-based culture and spirituality. Mask making and somatic practices offer us the opportunity to make manifest the unseen world, inspiring the hidden parts of our soul to reveal themselves. From Myth to Soul Pelt will be a combination of Myth study, crafting, and land-based practices. The mythic work carries the lineage of Martín Prechtel, while the land-based, soul work carries the lineage of the Animas Valley Institute.

Join Stephanie MacKay and Stéphanie Marchal for a gathering around old Indo-European stories that carry the seed memory of an ancient way of feeding life. We will wander through the teachings of one story, allowing our curiosity and the story Soul to guide us. What is revealed to us through this process will be supported as we spend time on the land and in community.

Embodiment as a doorway to the numinous realms of Soul and Land.

Masks and ceremonial dress are gifted to us from the intersection between the Otherworld and our own inner world, to strengthen our relationship with both. We will nourish life and our own Soul by giving form to the masks and dress that are waiting for us to remember them. In ancient cultures, masks were the dream of the land, gifted to the people so that the land could be danced into life at seasonal ceremonies. The land is still dreaming but we have forgotten how to listen.

The masks and dress are asking us to embody them, dream them, remember them. Can we turn our hearts towards the depths of our inner world so that we may truly hear the longings of the Otherworld?

Part of each day will be dedicated to creating our mask and pelts, and welcoming them into our circle. The mask itself is a mystery - when we wear it, we will also be Mystery. An encounter with Other, in reciprocity and love.

What to Expect

Group Ceremony and Wild Ritual

Once our masks have taken shape, we will enter into ceremony to gift the ones that guided us through our process. We will gift the numinous landscape in reciprocity for what was gifted to us.

Land-based Practices

Drawing from years of study with Animas Valley Institute, your guides will invite you into solo practices on the land that facilitate connection to the other-than-human world.

Community

Weaving into our constellation of connection, we will gather together to share from our hearts and tell our stories. This includes: Council Sharing, Dyads, Journalling, Dream Tending, etc..

Clear and Strong Container

Your journey will be held within a strong energetic field, created and held by your guides. The more you are energetically held, the safer your nervous system feels, allowing for a deep dive into mystery.
